One of the most important ministries we do is the visitation ministry. We visit prisons, nursing homes, poor families, and sick people to bring encouragement, support, and hope. We believe that sometimes a person’s greatest need is not only material, but emotional and spiritual: to know that they are not alone, that they are not forgotten, and that their life has value.
Why humanitarian visits?
There are many people who live in loneliness, suffering, or in being forgotten. In nursing homes there are people who are no longer visited by anyone. In prisons there are people who believe they no longer have any chance. In hospitals and in homes there are sick people who need encouragement. In poor families there are parents who struggle daily to provide the bare necessities for their children.
Through these visits, we want to bring light into places where there is often a lot of sadness and discouragement.
What do we do during the visits?
Our visits are not just simple meetings, but moments in which we try to bring joy and hope in practical ways:
- We talk with people and listen to them
- We pray for them
- We provide packages with food and basic supplies
- We sing and bring a message of encouragement
- We spend time with the elderly and lonely people
- We visit sick people and families in difficulty
- We organize special programs in prisons and nursing homes
Many times, a visit, a conversation, and a prayer can completely change a person’s day.
A visit can change a life
We have often seen tears of joy in the eyes of people who had not been visited for a long time. We have seen people who regained hope, people who found courage, people who understood that their life has value.
Sometimes we cannot change the whole world, but we can change one person’s world.
